If you enjoy drawing with a Hawk quill nib, this is the pen for you.
Many artists enjoy the Hawk quill nib because it is flexible yet and provides a wide range of line widths. It is a more durable version of the crowquill nib.
The Hawk quill is especially suited for our Pump Pen. The ink hole is very small, so the gravity flow of ink through the needle nib is not reliable. Pressing the pump helps keep the flow running for a smoother drawing experience. That's why we do not offer a Hawk quill Fountain Pen. You need to encourage the flow through the Hawk quill nib.
Make sure you line up the hole in the feed with the hole in the hawk quill as described in Adjusting the flow in your Ackerman quill pen. Be sure to read our article Preparing dip nibs for use in our pens.
You can add five Hawk quill nibs to your order.
You can use any crowquill or Hawk quill nib in this pen, including those made by Hunt, Deleter, Brause and Gillott. We could call this pen our "Quill Pump Pen".
