A clear Gillott 303 Fountain Pen with an overfeed. If you like to draw with a Gillott 303 nib, keep track of your ink use, and handle a pretty pen, this is the pen for you.
This is a small pen measuring 4.25" capped and 5.25" posted (cap on the back). We provide two other demonstrators in medium and large size.
It fits into small pockets, narrow sleeves in back packs, and other tight places. Great for quick sketching on the fly in the field as well as studio work.
The Gillott 303 is very flexible and when it bends off the underfeed, the flow of ink can slow or stop. The overfeed prevents against this. It keeps feeding ink to the nib when it is flexed backwards.
You can replace the nib easily - just pull it out and stick in the new nib. Be sure to read Preparing dip nibs for use in our pens if you are unfamiliar with Gillott nibs. The quality of these nibs varies widely.
You can keep your eye on the color ink you're using and how much is left to work with. You can also see if any ink leaked into the cap before uncapping the pen.
To fill the pen, unscrew the back, remove the cartridge and fill it, then replace the cartridge and screw on the back.
You can add five Gillott 303 nibs to your order.
You can adjust the positions of the nib and feed to find the sweet spot for your pen. We try to make the nib and feed fit correctly, but you are dealing with a cheap dip nib.
Don't misunderstand, I love the Gillott 303 nib, but it is not an expensive nib and can have some surface irregularities. These might impede the match. Slide the nib back and forth on the feed and slide the feed in and out of the pen until you find the right combination that works for you.
You can use Gillott 404 nibs in this pen, which is the same size and shape as the 303, just stiffer since it is meant for writing and not drawing.
This pen use the Pilot Namiki cartridge. You can buy them at most pen stores, on Amazon, and through other online dealers.
You can buy additional cartridges from us for US$1.00.
