Use this tool to attach a brush to the back of our classic pens and wash your ink drawings. Fill the tool with water, press it onto the back of your Fountain Pen or Pump Pen, and have fun.
You can use any liquid that flows freely, such as clear water, ink wash, and ink and paint - your choice. We don't recommend thicker inks and paints unless you dilute them.
You can now draw as usual using the nib, and when you want to wash your drawn line, spin the pen in your hand half a turn and paint or wash your drawing using the brush. This is a great way to add shading, which gives more depth and character. Laying down the proper ink line is the first step, but washing the line or adding color adds subtlety that's not possible to get through a flex nib alone.
You can purchase additional brushes. They are easy to replace, just pull out the old brush with the ferrule, press in the new brush with ferrule, and off you go.
We provide caps for both ends of the wash tool for protection when the tool is not in use. This protects the brush and lets you carry the tool filled with water if you prefer. We recommend that you fill the wash tool just before you snap it onto your pen, but we say that as a note of caution. What drawing artist isn't used to getting wet and inky?
You can pull the tool off your pen when you no longer want to use it. Push it on, pull it off.
