Each type of feed is sold in bags of five feeds each.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe ship each crowquill pen using the newer short feed. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou can order the previous ink feed version, which is longer. We shortened the length so the feed doesn't constrain the flow of ink through the stem of the crowquill. The longer feed is easier to position correctly in the nib. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSpring feeds are designed to work with thicker inks and paints. They bridge the gap between the stem of the nib and the tip. Spring feeds have been used for a long time. Some people call them \"ink cage reservoirs\".
