Crowquill Ink Feeds
Use our crowquill ink feed to feed ink to crowquill nibs in our Classic Pens. Just insert the feed into the crowquill, then insert the crowquill into our crowquill adapter.
There are three types of feeds for crowquill nibs - short feeds, long feeds, and spring feeds. Each type of feed is sold in bags of five feeds each.
We ship each crowquill pen using the newer short feed.
You can order the previous ink feed version, which is longer. We shortened the length so the feed doesn't constrain the flow of ink through the stem of the crowquill. The longer feed is easier to position correctly in the nib.
Spring feeds are designed to work with thicker inks and paints. They bridge the gap between the stem of the nib and the tip. Spring feeds have been used for a long time. Some people call them "ink cage reservoirs". Spring feeds are designed for thicker inks, so the body of the feed doesn't constrain the flow of ink inside the stem of the crowquill.
The spring feed for the crowquill is not the same as the spring feed for the Hawk quill.
