Sketch Piston Filler Demonstrator

A large crystal clear fountain pen with a piston filling mechanism. If you like to draw with our Sketch nib, this is a great pen for you.

  • Contains our Sketch nib and matching feed
  • Piston filler for clean and easy filling
  • Replace the nib easily - slide out the old and insert the new
  • Keep your eye on the remaining volume
  • Check to make sure ink hasn't leaked into the cap

Our Sketch nib is a fountain pen nib, not a dip nib. This provides a smoother and steadier flow of ink.

This is a work horse sketching pen. Our Sketch nib is flexible and strong. You can vary the width of your drawn line, and you can move the nib in any direction.

You can smooth the nib periodically with lapping paper we provide in your order. A smooth Sketch nib skates over the paper. You don't have to smooth the nibs frequently, just periodically to keep their surface smooth for a nice slick feel when you draw. You can even get creative and change the shape of the tip, but we don't recommend this unless you know what you are doing.

You have two choices of Sketch nib: pointed or stub. Be sure to make your selection below. We suggest you select the pointed Sketch nib if you aren't familiar with stub nibs. Pointed Sketch nibs let you draw finer lines.

This is a large pen measuring 5.25" uncapped and 5.5" capped. You can't post this pen (put the cap on the back) because of the piston turn knob.

Piston filler you can clean

Piston fillers are handy pens - no need to change cartridges when you run out or fill a converter, which can be awkward. Just stick the nib into a container of ink and suck it up by twisting the piston knob. Only problem is that ink and paint can collect inside the reservoir and plug up the pen or wear down the piston seals.

That's not a problem with this pen. You can disassemble the back of the pen to remove the piston and clean the reservoir. You can also replace the piston seals with two extras provides in the kit. This is a handy pen that is built to last.

Using other nibs in this pen

You can use the Zebra Manga G, Brause Rose and Brause Bandzug nibs in this pen.
